Grass straws 15-50-100-150 pack

DID YOU KNOW?
Australians use about 10 million straws every day. Most are used just once - for around 15-30 minutes, then thrown away! Some plastic straws washing up and being found today have been dated back to 1888- so we have been littering our beautiful planet for over 130 years!

While going straw-free is the most eco-friendly option, many people still prefer plastic straws over their eco-friendlier counterpart. As a society whole, we still heavily rely on plastic straws for several different reasons. And hence, it becomes a necessity to search for an eco-friendly alternative.
While paper straws, wheat straws or rice straws have seen a surge in popularity lately, many have criticized them for their lack of durability – in terms of them getting soggy.

Bamboo straws or metal straws have been a trendy alternative choice to the plastic counterpart. But for the cafes and restaurants, it can sometimes be a time-consuming activity constantly cleaning customers used straws.

We have worked tirelessly around the clock to source a more suitable alternative for the hospitality industry and have found a zero-waste alternative to unsustainable plastic.

Who can benefit?

  • Coffee shops,
  • Restaurants,
  • Takeaway stores,
  • Corporate Events,
  • or even take away camping

Our straws are made from grey sedge grass (Lepironia Articulata). The grass grows around the Mekong Delta region in Southwestern Vietnam.

HOW GREY SEDGE GRASS STRAWS ARE MADE:

  • First, the grass is harvested, washed, and cut into straw-sized tubes – lengths measuring 20 centimetres (about 8 inches).
  • Then an iron rod is used to clean the inner part of the straws, followed by one last washing, then putting the straws in the sun for two to three days to dry out and finish by baking them in a special oven.
  • Dried grass straws can be stored at room temperature for up to 12 months.

Why Should You Choose Dried Grass Straws?

  • NEVER SOGGY.
  •  HOT DRINK FRIENDLY
  • EDIBLE
  • COMPOSTABLE
  • FREE OF CHEMICALS AND PRESERVATIVES
  • AND AFFORDABLE

So, the question is, why do we keep using plastic straws?
